Velvet truly is a spunky old lady with lots of energy and loves people. She doesn't love to be picked up or manhandled so a home without children would be best. She does however love to be pet and have her tummy scratched. In fact, she can be quite determined to get her scratchings if ignored!
Not much is known about Velvet's history, she was found as a stray and had completely shut down in the shelter. However, immediately after being rescued she came back to life and is a great walking, hiking, active partner.
Adoption Information
Velvet is available for adoption or fostering. She is current on her vaccinations and heartworm preventatives and is a good fit for homes with no children. She tolerates other dogs and warns appropriately if they are too pushy towards her. Velvet can resource guard chew toys and bones but mostly just warns so would do best with other older pets who are not overly energetic or pushy. She does bark when she wants attention and is determiend to get it but does not bark for no reason. She is a velcro dog that would love nothing more than to have her forever human to love.
